Thumbs Up for a Tree

“Thumbs Up for a Tree”

Thumbs Up for a Tree

I worked with a colleague to design and create the Facebook campaign, “Thumbs Up for a Tree”. This campaign is for UDR Apartment’s Facebook Page. For each “Like” received, UDR has a tree planted in Haiti and Kenya to assist these developing areas around the world to use tree plantings to help develop natural resources, control erosion and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. UDR is partnered with the Trees for the Future, non-profit organization. Since 1989, Trees for the Future has been helping communities around the world to plant trees. Through seed distribution and agroforestry training, they have empowered rural areas in numerous countries to restore tree cover to their lands. (*The “Thumbs up for a Tree – Campaign 2012” is capped at 100,000 Trees/Likes)

Fiori on Vitruvian Park

A colleague and I came up with Fiori, as the of name of Vitruvian Park’s newest apartments. A 3rd party created the logo and marketing materials. Fiori on Vitruvian Park® is a brand new apartment community featuring one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom apartments for rent in Addison, Texas. Surrounded by acres of creek-adjacent park and steps from the boutique shops, bistro dining, and nightlife of downtown Addison, Fiori on Vitruvian Park is a short commute to downtown Dallas and DFW. From the exquisite art of Dale Chihuly to the finest amenities, such as penthouse lounge, climate-controlled, resident wine storage, and waterfall courtyard with fire pit, Fiori is the pinnacle of art and high living in Dallas. Fiori apartment homes are finished in granite, stainless steel, and hardwood, and feature design elements such as frameless showers, included surround sound, free-standing tubs, and California Closets.

Organisms of Non-Effection

In my abstract / surrealistic series, “Organisms of Non-Effection”, I use biomorphic shapes to create a world of organisms that are free forming. The images are meant to stimulate one’s eye. The depth, movement, and color allow the viewer to perceive whatever comes to mind while viewing the artwork. My unique style makes every painting an original experience.

For the Love of Kettle

"For the Love of Kettle"

For the Love of Kettle

Kettle Art nurtures up and coming artists in the North Texas area. The original idea was to be ‘inclusive as opposed to exclusive’ offering local talent a quality setting to exhibit their works. This concept has proven successful for over seven years now. We’ve hosted well over 250 exhibits and the number of artists who have graced our walls is well into the thousands. Visual Art groups such as Sour Grapes, ArtHash and Photopolis have unified their efforts at Kettle. Regional ‘Art Stars’ who have shown not only their work but steady love & support for this gallery include Cathey Miller, Sergio Garcia, Lisa Lindholm, Richard Ross, Erica Felicella, Tyson Summers, Judith Lea Perkins, Mark S. Nelson, George Fowler, Dan Colcer and Cabe Booth. These are just few names you may recognize as ‘the Little Gallery that Could’ continues it’s quest in breaking new talent in our fair city.

This effort does however come with a price. In taking on this artistic endeavor of keeping the doors open, our artists always get paid their fair share first, followed by essentials such as rent, electric and sales tax. Despite all staff personnel being voluntary, on the average one out of three exhibits make a profit. Which brings us to the Love of Kettle. This annual event is the one and only fundraiser we do to keep us in the black. All works are created on equally sized 9 x 12 inch boards, by those who care enough to keep this gallery / concept afloat. All works are also equally priced at just $50.00 apiece. These are all sold on a first come first serve basis, which creates quite a buying frenzy, not usually seen at an art gallery.

For the Love of Kettle happens annually on the Saturday prior to Valentines Day, this year on February 11th, 2012 from 7:00 – 10:00 PM. Expect to have the opportunity to own a piece not only by the aforementioned artists but also greats such as Clint Scism, Corey Godfrey, Robb Conover, Cheryl Baker, Brian Crawford, Cathryn Colcer, Brad Albright, Amber Campagna, Ryan Thies, Hatziel Flores, Dylan Hollingsworth, Michelle McLaughlin, George Wallace III, Frank Lopez and many, many more.

Thank you for your continued support and be sure to get there early.

Please note: For the Love of Kettle 7:00 – 10:00 followed by Art Love Magic’s Underground 8:00 – 10:00.

For the Love of the Artists

For the Love of the Artists

For the Love of the Artists

This show similar in name to the our last exhibit ‘For the Love of Kettle’. In fact, it’s only open to those artists who participated in ‘For the Love of Kettle’. What makes ‘For The Love Of The Artists’ different, is that it’s our way of saying thank you to them.

With this idea, we’re going 100% against the grain of any successful business. 100% of the sales will go back directly to the artist. Yes, it’s a crazy concept, but we’re aware first hand that artists are constantly asked (and usually deliver) for donations to various causes. How often do any of these recipients give back anything more than a thank you when it’s all said and done?

So there you go. That’s what we’re up to next, and we’re giving it a shot. With any luck, those who have asked a favor of these artists (the poorest group of philanthropists) will consider a bit of a payback.
