I designed the logo and branding for BeardFest 6. Below are the details of the event:

BeardFest 6

Hosted by: The Dallas Facial Hair Club

When: May 27, 2016

Where: The Dirty 30 Bar

Location: 650 Exposition Ave, Dallas, TX 75226

Benefitting: DFW Canines For Veterans

I recently designed a logo and a few BBQ flyers for Camp Hope.

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs statistics, a veteran suffering from PTSD commits suicide every 65 minutes or 22 veterans lost per day. One veteran lost to suicide is one too many.

Opened in 2012, Camp Hope is the only known provider of interim housing for combat veterans seeking a quiet, safe setting whereby they and their immediate family members can find healing and hope while benefiting from an intensive peer support and mentoring program.  Additionally, Camp Hope offers a 90+ day PTSD recovery program in which residents attend group lessons and support sessions with other combat veterans, conduct individual mentoring sessions with certified combat trauma mentors, participate in off-site small group interaction activities (fishing, hiking, local activities and events), and become involved with local businesses and volunteer organizations to assist their personal healing and help educate the community about the invisible wounds of war.

The PTSD Foundation and Camp Hope cannot survive without the generosity of its sponsors and the community!

I created banner ads for UDR Apartments: Uptown Living. These ads were featured on the Dallas Stars website, as well as the scoreboard at the arena, and the hockey rink boards. Located in stylish Uptown Dallas, UDR apartment communities offer the best of urban living coupled with breathtaking views of downtown Dallas. Uptown is home to plenty of retail centers, excellent restaurants, and has an exquisite nightlife. The communities of 1900 McKinney, Cirque, and Thirty377 boast large one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom floor plans, open kitchens featuring granite slab countertops, and much more. Residents at Cirque enjoy a seventh floor outdoor Orbit Lounge while residents at Thirty377 may take relaxing hikes on the nearby Katy trail. The 27 stories of 1900 McKinney are around the corner from Dallas’ M Line street car.

A colleague and I created the concept, wire-framing, layout, and design. We also testing the UI and provided feedback to the developer pertaining to bug fixes. UDR’s current offering of mobile apps enhances the UDR apartment search by employing GPS location services, compass, advanced mapping, and video functions to offer a unique apartment search experience. UDR offers many ways to access apartments for rent directly from your mobile device. UDR allows you to search from your mobile devices such as the iPhone®, iPad®, and Android™.

Features:

  • Browse for UDR apartments in your city, state, and region
  • Find the nearest UDR apartments to you using your iPhone’s GPS function
  • Use the keyword search to find rentals in your neighborhood and plot your results on a map
  • View community photos, floor plan information, and apartment details
  • Watch videos and interactive slideshows of our apartments
  • Save your favorite UDR communities and floor plans
  • Share your search results via email and on Facebook
  • Get driving directions using your iPhone’s default mapping app
  • Find and reserve your new apartment with our mobile availability
  • Access MyUDR.com mobile where residents can pay rent and submit service requests

I worked with a colleague to design and create the Facebook campaign, “Thumbs Up for a Tree”. This campaign is for UDR Apartment’s Facebook Page. For each “Like” received, UDR has a tree planted in Haiti and Kenya to assist these developing areas around the world to use tree plantings to help develop natural resources, control erosion and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. UDR is partnered with the Trees for the Future, non-profit organization. Since 1989, Trees for the Future has been helping communities around the world to plant trees. Through seed distribution and agroforestry training, they have empowered rural areas in numerous countries to restore tree cover to their lands. (*The “Thumbs up for a Tree – Campaign 2012” is capped at 100,000 Trees/Likes)

I created a print ad for UDR Apartments: Uptown Living. This ad was printed in the Human Rights Campaign: Black Tie Dinner program.
